There is a general issue with this approach: Several endings being consistent for one and the same story is rarely the case – A well told story follow its own logic, making every turn of events comprehensible. This leads to the two main problems I am focusing on:
Games with linear storytelling can tell strong and consistent stories, but don't give the player the chance to shape the story. While games with non-linear storytelling can take the player's decisions into account but lose the strength of the plot in the process.
I'm developing a system for games which make non-linear storytelling work while also maintaining a believable story overall.
