But to what extent our unconscious controls our visual preferences? Is there a natural-born sense of aesthetics? What does our perception look for? Obviously culture and environment shape our attitudes but it seems are brains are full of evolutionary cues and presets that have an influence to our decision making.

Our visual pathway is not a one-way street. Lower levels of our brain constantly match what we see to what we know before creating prejudges and formulating opinions. Specific understanding our natural likes and cognitive processes can give us interesting insight how we unconsciously evaluate our objects and surroundings.
