From the medieval guilds emerged our contemporary notion of professional associations; the origin of universities comes from grouping of scholars and students; manufacturing clusters have evolved in places with specific geographic advantages; groups of artists have gathered in the world’s capital cities. Clustering has proven to boost economy, foster innovation and generate ideas through the sharing of skills, techniques as well as by creating competition between members.
If in industry - especially the creative industry – place matters, can we move away from a renown cluster and still flourish, can we predict / create new clusters?
