Prospective smellsAbstractIn our nowadays everyday life, more and more objects, spaces, environments, etc. are odorized, the industry of synthetic smells is strongly growing; widely spreading and conveying trends such as olfactive marketing or sur-mesure smells. Knowing the strong evocative power of smells, could we imagine to use smells to rise awareness, to address certain topics and to help foreseeing the future ? In an environment were technology focuses its performances mainly on visual and auditive experiences, RES-senti invites to use the sense of smell as explorative and speculative device.
In this context, various RES-scenarios are developed, composed of three elements interconnected to one another on various level of understanding : an artifact, which is support of a smell, which is then addressing a specific topic through the writing of a narrative story.
The RES-scenarios intends to target our cerebral and emotional brain to foresee the future through smells.
