I have been referencing the past, pushing men to wear dress and heels additionally using the similarities idea. Similarity idea is wearing the same clothing regardless what your gender is.
I believe that in the future there will be no separation between menswear and womenswear clothing in stores. This was realized sooner than I expected when Selfridges, a big department store in London, started the Agender pop up shop that has gender - neutral clothing. It is rewarding knowing that your conceptualization is happening in society today. Looking closely at current designers such as Gucci, J. W Anderson, Art School, Palomo Spain who are pioneering this movement and which is not a trend but something that it is naturally becoming realised in the fashion industry. Fashion comes and goes, men and women borrow and inspire each other’s look and, at the end of the day, we share our clothing together.
