This convergence is supported by transhumanism, a movement of thought which is strongly debated at the moment. Transhumanism was defined in 1957 by Julian Huxley as : «man remaining man but transcending himself, by realizing new possibilities of and for his human nature». He considered human beings had to establish a better environment for themselves, in order to reveal their potential.
Focusing on the enhancement of cognitive capacities (such as perception, emotions, intelligence), I will investigate the role of the designer in the construction of this transhumanist environment : what is the place of the designer in the transhumanist debate ?TutorsAlexandra Midal
