And yet, this naturalist vision of life and death, apply to things that are not alive can be paradoxal. Aside these famous concepts of obsolescence or resurgence, I’m questionning the notion of survival (survivance) as an other temporality to analyse objects from the daily life and by consequence the object of the designer.

Aby Warburg, a german art historian from the begining of the 20th century, developped his work through this aspect of survivance within the images (appearence, ghost and symptoms). I’m using his relation to time and temporality to interpret the project 100 chairs in 100 days of Martino Gamper and examine the influences and consequences of working with survival objets trough the act of creation/design. What are the interest of this process ? What does it bring from one to another?
